A maniacal knitter, I lived in London all my life unti I met my husband while on holiday in Turkey and I've never looked back since. We still live in this richly cultural, beautiful country with our two children. There are so many traditional arts and crafts here, especially created by women, that I barely knew where to start adapting them to my addiction-turned-business!
About The Knit Box (KB Yarns & Accessories)
The Knit Box is about yarn and knitting accessories which are uniquely designed or carefully selected from traditional crafts found in Turkey. Living in Golcuk in the Northwest coast of Turkey, meant that we experienced the 1999 earthquake of 7.6 right at the epicentre. Tens of thousands of lives and homes were destroyed. Now, thanks to the Golcuk Art and Culture Centre built by the local municipality, the women in the local community have found a place to express their crafts, talents and arts. The Knit Box has reached out to some of these women to help turn their craft into a means of income, as seen in our accessories.

KB Yarn is produced locally by small, family spinning businesses. We ensure that we use only Turkish cottons and wools. Fair trade and labour applies to all products.
